Established in 2006 by Black Hills locals, Jim and Glenna Books, Dakota Bike Tours is the go to regional specialist for bicycling on scenic roads and the Mickelson Trail for all ages and levels in Western South Dakota and Northeast Wyoming. Because of diversity ranging from catered camping tours to deluxe accommodations, from easy to challenging plus tours, and from children to age 80 plus, we probably have a tour that is just right for you. GREETINGS FROM YOUR HOSTS
In 2009, our business grew 30% in a recession year which we are grateful for. We also did two successful test tours to expand our niche to include one additional challenging tour and three catered camping tours for the Mickelson Trail in 2010. Another highlight is that Glenna expanded her meal preparation for our INN to INN Tours and was the caterer for our Mickelson Trail test tour. Our guests tell us that her gourmet style cooking is one of the highlights of their tour. They also appreciate how through cooking we personalize our tours in such a unique way. We will continue this in 2010.
And lastly, our gratitude and thanks go out to our superb tour guides. Mary, Curt, Ann, Randy, Steve and Mark. They are an exceptional group of professionals who give our guests their enthusiasm and passion for cycling in South Dakota. We also want to express our appreciation to our volunteers, Dave Streeter, Michele and Janet, who have helped us on test tours and meals. Without our guides and volunteers, who are truly our friends, Dakota Bike Tours would not exist.
