Badlands National Park Tour

This tour explores one of the most unique geological wonders in the US. The scenery is amazing with high vistas, deep ravines, towering walls and awesome prairie. We will stay at the Circle View Guest Ranch 4 miles west of Interior next to the park headquarters. This B&B was built in 2000 on a plateau over looking the White River Valley and is operated by a 3rd generation rancher and his wife. The riding of this tour is planned to accommodate all levels of bicycle riders, so no one has to do more than they wish, or if the energetic riders desire, they will have ample opportunities to explore additional loops in addition to climbing all the hilly stretches.

Friday, Arrival - We will pick people up at the Rapid City Airport at 2:00 p.m. or meet them at the ranch. We will fit people with their bikes and those who wish to take a short ride can do so. Amy and Phillip, our host, will treat us to fantastic horsdoeuvres and a dinner that will match incredible scenery and sunset we will experience from their deck overlooking the White River Valley.

Saturday, Badlands Tour Begins - Following Breakfast on Saturday, you will ride your bike on the Badlands Loop Road and stop often and do some very interesting short hikes to learn about the geology of the Badlands. Our bike route will range from 22 to 28 miles or more, depending on how energetic our riders are.

Sunday, Tour Sheep Mountain - Some will wish to ride their bikes the entire 31 miles from the ranch to Sheep Mountain Table to hike in one of the most remote parts of the park.
Others will wish to ride in the van all or part of the way to Sheep Mountain to enjoy a longer hike. We will have a picnic lunch on top of Sheep Mountain Table prior to returning to Circle View Guest Ranch where the cars are parked. Transportation to the RC Airport will arrive in time for a 4:00 p.m. departure or later.
