At 3 days of riding, this tour is the standard for doing the entire trail in one outing. Although the camp sites are not perfectly spaced for similar mileage and climbing each day, we will provide shuttle service to and from each camp location each day to a predetermined location to even out the distances for all 3 days and the climbing for the first 2 days. You and your gear will be picked up by our van at 4:00 p.m. in Hill City on a Friday and shuttled to Carsten’s Cabins (approximately a 50 minute drive north) for dinner, tour orientation and camping. After breakfast on Saturday, we will transport you 20 minutes in the van to the start of the trail in Deadwood for your first leg of 37.1 miles including 14 miles of uphill. For Saturday night, you will be transported to the Crooked Creek Campground just 2 miles south of Hill City and returned Sunday to Saturday’s stopping point for your second leg to the White Elephant Trailhead, a 36 mile stretch with13 miles of uphill. On Sunday, we will transport you to Charms Country Cabins for dinner, camping & hot showers, return you to Sunday’s stopping point for you to complete the remaining 35.7 miles of the tour, mostly downhill to Edgemont.
