This two day tour is ideal for those who want to have a leisurely ride and experience a major part of the Mickelson Trail, mostly downhill. It starts at Crazy Horse at 5900 feet and ends 51 miles later in Edgemont at 3500 ft. This tour only has a few miles that are "uphill", and these miles are gentle with less than 3% grade. Our first leg is 25 miles where you will be shuttled by our van 2 miles to the Country Charms Campground, where you will have hot showers and a catered meal. If cabins are available, you can opt to sleep on a soft bed instead of camp. The next day is a 26 mile ride through a beautiful canyon. After lunch in Edgemont, you will return to your car by 3:00 p.m.
Day 1 - 25 miles with 5 gentle miles uphill: This tour convenes the first day at 9:00 a.m. in Hill City (you are on your own for breakfast) where guests and bikes are shuttled to the Crazy Horse trailhead. After 9 miles of all downhill passing giant granite rock outcroppings, we will stop in the City of Custer to see some sites and take a break. We will continue 12 miles to the village of Pringle for a picnic lunch, where the trail transitions slowly from granite outcroppings to open meadows and vistas. Following lunch is an additional 6 mile ride, where we depart the trail in the van to drive two miles on gravel to our campground. This campground has several amenities such as hot showers, kitchen, and lounge area plus horseback riding and hiking. You will be treated to a delicious catered meal for dinner and breakfast the next morning.
Day 2 - 26 miles of downhill: We will have an early departure following breakfast so we can complete the 26 miles ride to Edgemont by noon, before the day heats up too much. The Southern Hills are dryer and hotter, so it is good to plan accordingly. After lunch in the city park, we will return to Hill City where cars have been parked for the tour.

NOTE: The Basic Fee includes shuttle from and to Hill City, luggage & bike transfer; trail pass; 1dinner, 2 lunches, and 1 breakfast; camping, hot showers; and sag support at designated trail heads. We rent Specialized Sirrus Hybrid Bikes; Porter, tent & mattress services are additional to the basic fees and include set-up, take down, 8 inch air mattresses, towel service, and 2 chairs per tent. Limited sleeping cabins with bedding without private bathrooms, may be available at an additional charge.
