   Bike Tour Levels

Graded tour levels ensure we have an experience for people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and interest. Most of our tours have the flexibility to be at two levels depending on the rider's choice.

Easy - specifically designed for entry level and very relaxed riding to allow you to gain experience and confidence for on-road touring.  Requires a minimum baseline of fitness, exercising once a week prior to the tour with preferably one 20 mile trip under the belt.

Moderate - expectation that of prior touring experience in moderately hilly terrain of gradual inclines of less than 5%. Avoidance of long steep inclines are easily done by riding in the van. Requires an average level of fitness, exercising two-three times a week prior to the tour and a half dozen 25-35 mile rides, preferably hilly terrain, prior to the tour.

Challenging - designed for the more experienced rider who wishes a good workout including sustained inclines of over 5% grade.  Requires a good level of fitness exercising three-five times per week prior to the tour and comfortable with 40 - 60 mile days in hilly terrain.

Extreme - For those who like steep terrain and long distances over 60 miles a day. Requires a very high level of fitness.  Dakota Bike Tours does not offer this level at this time.

Bike Tour Services - All Inclusive

Tour the Badlands on bike in 2009! Our tours are designed with optional distances each day ranging from 25 to 50 miles per day; our riders simply choose the length they want to do each day. However, the Bad Devils Tour is longer with 40-60 miles per day. Our philosophy is to cover less linear distance and spend more concentrated time in smaller areas. Request A Brochure
